-Today marks the 25th anniversary of one of the most important episodes in Charmeds history and in tv media herstory.
-25 years ago, Charmed aired its 3rd season finale ‘All Breaks Loose’ directed by Shannen Doherty herself in which Prue Halliwell dies. Shannen unexpectedly directed her own death without knowing. She had also directed the season 2 finale.
-Showrunner, Brad Kern, was instructed to write a season finale that would end in a cliffhanger that had all 3 sisters lives in jeopardy as they mulled over their options of how to move forward with the series after a year of Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano feuding behind the scenes. Holly Marie Combs has stated in the past that the cast was unaware of this and they filmed the episode all expecting to return for Season 4.
-Shannen would wrap production on the episode, fly to Canada to film ‘Another Day’ with then boyfriend, Julian McMahon and receive her pink slip. While All Hell broke loose on the screen, it also broke less behind the scenes with the media picking this up and beginning a summer of interviews between all the actresses over what went down.
-Coincidently Aaron Spelling had a thing with his top actresses leaving/behind fired after 3 years with Kate Jackson, who helped bring Charlies Angels to life, would force him to fire her after the third season of Charlies Angels. The Charmed reboot would also lose its main actress after Season 3.
