More information is surfacing about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting suspect.
On Saturday, the Correspondents’ Dinner, which took place in the Washington Hilton hotel’s ballroom, was interrupted when shots were fired by a gunman. President Donald Trump and JD Vance, as well as other political figures, were rushed to safety by Secret Service agents while a man identified as Cole Tomas Allen was subdued and taken into custody.
Now, new details have emerged in the wake of his arrest.

Shortly after Allen, a California State University Masters graduate, who works as a teacher and video game developer, was arrested, the FBI conducted a raid on a Torrance home believed to be connected to him. In footage obtained by TMZ, police caution tape is seen marking off the home, while a sea of reporters and concerned neighbors gather around. Watch (below):

It’s not immediately clear what or how much evidence was collected, but what was taken into custody is currently being combed through.
In an interview with CNN on Sunday, acting US Attorney General Todd Blanche provided details on Allen’s cross-country trek:
“We know that he traveled from Los Angeles to Chicago, and then Chicago to D.C., and it appears he traveled by train during both those legs of his trip. [He] checked into the Washington Hilton a couple days ago on the 24th, and then obviously attempted to breach the perimeter last night, and [he] was quickly subdued.”

Blanche went on to confirm law enforcement has already been in contact with people connected to Allen, as he is not doing much talking himself:
“[This is] information we primarily got from other means. We’ve already started talking to folks who knew him, we’ve already started going through the evidence we collected. It’s been 12 hours, so this is not something that is over — it’s just starting.”
During an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Trump claimed a “manifesto” of Allen’s has been recovered, and that he perceived the suspect to “hate Christians” after reading it, positioning that as a possible reason Allen made an attempt on members of his administration — though the accuracy of Trump’s perception has yet to be confirmed publicly.
The White House DID confirm in an interview with TMZ, however, that Allen’s brother contacted New London Police in Connecticut after receiving a copy of the manifesto moments before the shooting on Saturday. The White House also confirmed that Secret Service agents and the Montgomery County Police conducted a joint interview with the suspect’s sister in Rockville, Maryland, where she resides. During said interview, the sister allegedly detailed a pattern of concerning and radical statements made by Allen recently, including repeated promises to “do something” amid current political and societal issues. But prior to his arrest, Allen had no criminal history, according to multiple outlets.
On whether the suspect is currently cooperating with law enforcement, Blanche told CNN:
“We are not viewing him as cooperating necessarily right now, although we’ll see what happens going forward.”
Blanche predicted Allen will be charged with two counts: assault of a federal officer, and using a firearm during a crime of violence, as previously noted by US Attorney Jeanine Pirro. Blanche said it’s “left to be seen” whether there will be additional charges in the coming days depending on what’s learned from the evidence that is being gathered. More (below):
As we previously reported, Trump revealed “one officer was shot” during the confrontation “from very close distance with a very powerful gun.” However, the officer was luckily wearing a bulletproof vest and is reportedly OK.
CNN reported on Sunday Allen obtained his firearms, including a handgun and a shotgun, legally.
