The Princess of Wales has launched a series of animated videos to help parents and caregivers with early childhood education. 
The short videos were developed by the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood and released today on YouTube. Below is a quick backgrounder on the films released by the Centre for Early Childhood.

The films are designed for use by professionals working in the early years sector, charities, parents, and caregivers. The Princess was a key part of the process in developing and designing the videos. Here you see her at a June 5 meeting with the team working on the project.

The Princess, who has worked with animators on the short films, has spoken of the need to raise a “younger generation better equipped to face the future”. Those “nurturing, loving interactions” with adults create the “building blocks” to make young children grow up to be happy and healthy, she said.
The Telegraph piece points out, “The series, also available in Welsh and with British Sign Language, uses different styles of animation and is based on expertise from Prof Peter Fonagy and Prof Sam Wass, described as two of the country’s leading figures in child development, and an advisory group of early childhood professionals. The Centre will now work with universities, charities, and professional bodies to add the films into training and practice across the country.” Below, you see the Princess looking at some of the storyboards for the films at the June 5 meeting.

In a statement about the films, the Princess said:
Early childhood has been recognised as the golden opportunity to build strong foundations for future life, health and happiness.
The new animated films from The Centre of Early Childhood showcase how adults can create nurturing, loving interactions with children, helping to foster social and emotional development during their earliest years.
These core social and emotional skills are essential in forming healthy relationships and are fundamental building blocks that can carry us through life.
That is why we want to raise the awareness of, and celebrate, the extraordinary value of everyday moments of connection which matter more than ever in a rapidly changing world.
Early childhood offers a sacred opportunity to transform our societies for the better and by nurturing these skills in our babies and children, we will be raising a younger generation better equipped to face the future.
The Telegraph article notes, “The Princess joined two of the illustrators during a creative workshop hosted by the foundation in June, and is said to be ‘ closely involved’ in, and extremely passionate about, the resulting films.
Now, let’s look at what Kate wore for the June meeting. In the video and photographs, it looks like the Princess is wearing past-season styles by Veronica Beard, an American brand. The Kona Dickey Jacket ($698) in forest green is sold out, but still available in navy ($418 at Shopbop). The double-breasted style is made in a blend of 98% viscose and 2% elastane, lined in 100% polyester. The length is described as “slightly abbreviated – but not too cropped.” Made in the USA, the tailored design has padded shoulders, notched lapels, front flap pockets, tortoise shell buttons, and a center back vent. 
The forest color is offered via Rent the Runway, as shown above. The trousers look like Veronica Beard’s Marbeau Trouser, also in forest green (Sold out, available in navy at Shopbop, $498). They are made in the same fabric blend and feature a high waist, wide-leg silhouette, pleats, slanted front pockets, back welt pockets, and a front zipper.

Beneath the jacket, it looked like the Princess brought back her ivory Silk-Blend Tank by Joseph (£215). 
UPDATE AUG 7: Middleton Maven suggests the top worn by the Princess has a higher neckline than the Joseph top shown above. She thinks this Paige style ($70) is a possibility.
