Raven-Symoné and Adrienne Bailon will reportedly reprise their respective roles of Galleria Garibaldi and Chanel Simmons in the upcoming The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen.
Their bandmate Sabrina Bryan is set to make a special appearance in the movie as Dorinda Thomas, while Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter will return as Galleria and Chanel’s moms Dorothea Garibaldi and Juanita Simmons, respectively. And none for Kiely Williams.
Sophia Bush will join the franchise as Jennifré.
Executive produced by Raven-Symoné and Debra Martin Chase, the Disney Channel and Disney+ film will star a new lineup that includes Leah Sava’ Jeffries as Galleria’s daughter Faith; Carmen Sanchez as Chanel’s sister Dior; Kaileen Chang as Ruby; and Sophie Lennon as Brooklyn. Newcomer Kamogelo Ramashala, a local South African actor who was discovered during a global open casting call held by Disney, will play Kendi.
As the fourth installment of the Cheetah Girls movie franchise, the story picks up with Galleria (Raven) and Chanel (Bailon) traveling to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. There, Galleria’s daughter Faith (Jeffries) and Chanel’s sister Dior—along with their friends—”find their voice, and discover the true Cheetah spirit as they save the preserve and ultimately take the stage as the new Cheetah Girls,” according to a press release.
