Fans have been wondering who the upcoming James Bond will be in the next era of the spy franchise, and while there might be one or two big favorites, several big names have been rumored. In an effort to try and narrow down the best, we’ve ranked five of the biggest stars rumored for the high-profile role.
The top 5 rumored new James Bond actors, ranked
Jacob Elordi
We start with someone who has been positioned as the favorite for the role as of yet. Jacob Elordi, best known for his roles in Euphoria, Frankenstein, and Priscilla, has the frame and looks to play Bond, as well as the pedigree as an actor. According to a recent report from The Guardian reporter Marina Hyde on The Rest is Entertainment podcast, Elordi (Euphoria, Frankenstein) seems to be the star with the best odds to become Bond.
The star has already amassed a litany of high-profile roles and praise and has earned an Academy Award, three British academy Film Award, and two Golden Globe Awards nominations for his performances throughout his young career, making him an excellent candidate to step into the role.
Callum Turner
Besides Elordi, no other actor has been mentioned to play Bond as much as Callum Turner. Turner is best known for his roles in the Fantastic Beasts movies, as well as his role in movies like Masters of the Air, Eternity, and more. He’ll next star in the upcoming romantic comedy One Night Only, which comes out this year.
Similar to Elordi, Turner has been mentioned as a favorite to play Bond over the last year. Earlier this year, Turner was seen on holiday with his partner, Dua Lipa, at a resort at Oracabessa Bay, the former estate of author Ian Fleming, lending credence to the rumors that he might be playing Bond.
Like Elordi, Turner has the acting chops and the looks, and he is also British himself, if that boosts his chances.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Before Elordi and Turner positioned themselves as the likely favorites, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s name was probably the most popular thrown around. The English actor is known for his roles in movies like Kick-Ass, Godzilla, Nosferatu, and more, and for awhile, he was seen as one of the most likely stars to play Bond.
Unfortunately for Taylor-Johnson, those rumors have mostly subsided as of late. The star has had a great few years starring in projects like The Fall Guy, 28 Years Later, and Robert Eggers’ upcoming Werwulf, but it seems unlikely we’ll be seeing Taylor-Johnson step into the world of spies to play Bond now.
Tom Holland
Another former favorite to play the role, Tom Holland is no stranger to rumors about his acting career. The star is most known for playing Spider-Man, of course, but has also starred in a number of other more serious projects, including Cherry, The Devil All the Time, and more. Holland will next star in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey, as well as the next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
While Holland is no stranger to giant franchises, it doesn’t seem like he’ll be playing Bond anytime soon. The star is likely way too busy with the MCU to jump into another big franchise, and his odds of playing Bond have dropped drastically since men like Elordi and Turner have entered the picture.
Louis Partridge
Our final potential Bond actor is a late newcomer in the odds to play the role, but much like Elordi and Turner, has been deemed a “favorite” to land the part. Earlier this year, Louis Partridge’s name was listed as being in contention for the role, and the 22-year-old actor aligns with Amazon MGM Studios looking for a “much younger” James Bond then we’ve seen before.
Partridge plays Viscount Tewkesbury in the Enola Holmes movies and Edward Guinness in the House of Guinness show. He’ll soon be seen playing George Wickham in the Pride and Prejudice Netflix show, while his filmography also includes 2015’s Pan, 2017’s Paddington 2, 2022’s The Lost Girls, 2024’s Argylle, and 2025’s Jay Kelly.
Who are you hoping ends up getting the part of James Bond? Is there someone not named that you’d like to see?
