Love it

Parisian composer and percussionist Lucie Antunes (above, left) is not one to do things by halves.
Silence is her new album, but it’s also much more than that. It’s also a stage work created in collaboration with French choreographer Mathilde Monnier (above, right), a central figure in contemporary dance and former director of the Centre National de la Danse in Paris. On stage, the work unfolds as a shared trance: seven dancers, four musicians, and a circular space where rhythm, repetition and sensation dissolve the boundaries between audience and performers.
The piece – conceived as both an album and a large-scale choreographed performance – also brings together a wide artistic ensemble of musicians, dancers and voices. Co-produced by Canblaster, featured artists include Louisahhh, Clara Ysé, Wolfgang Tillmans, Halo Maud and Vega Voga, with performer and director Rebecca Chaillon also joining a choir and a wider group of instrumentalists and vocalists.
The project will be marked by a release performance at the Grand Palais in Paris on June 10, before continuing as an international touring production, including performances at the Festival d’Avignon and Festival d’Automne.
The album, released by Lucie’s own imprint on June 12, features many of the collaborative artists from the show, including this breathtaking collaboration voiced by Halo Maud, ‘There’s A Love’. With the kind permission of Antunes, we can not only bring you the track in full, but also premiere the brand new video for a shorter edit that clocks in just over a minute long.
