UPDATE: 5/17/2026 1:48 P.M. PST: A source told Page Six over the weekend, “Pete has been paying for everything related to Elsie and Scottie,” including “the rent, their living expenses, their health insurance.” They added:
“They may have split but all he wants is for Elsie to be happy and in a good place. His main priority right now is making sure that Elsie and Scottie are looked after, so it’s utterly confusing to everyone who knows them why she would possibly post anything about him not supporting her. Obviously they have had personal disagreements and there has been a breakdown in the relationship but he is fully committed to being a good dad.”
The insider added the claim Pete “is not providing for her” is “utterly false.”
“That’s not the reality at all … [the] truth is he is actually paying for everything. Pete is doing everything to be super supportive to Elsie, he’s changed his schedule, and done everything he can to be there physically and financially so Elsie can feel supported.”
Everything may not be as it seems in Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s split.
As we’ve been following, the pair have officially split up five months after welcoming their daughter Scottie Rose together. Elsie confirmed as much in a pointed TikTok over the weekend, in which she shrugged off recent paparazzi pics of her walking the infant:
“That’s not what I’m thinking about right now because I have a baby to take care of. And I also have to work and make money, and I’m doing it on my own, which is hard.”

The same day, she also took to her Instagram Story revealing she’s currently looking for a nanny:
“I’m currently trying to find an assistant/ mother’s helper / nanny type / basically [a] right hand person”

Yeesh! We heard Elsie and Pete aren’t getting along since breaking up, but the idea that the SNL alum would leave his baby momma high and dry is just… No bueno. But a source from his camp is now responding!
On Sunday, an insider close to Pete assured People that the comedian is covering “all” the baby girl’s costs “and more.”
“Pete has made himself extremely available and has provided financial support. Pete is actually covering all Scottie costs and more.”
They added:
“He is hoping Elsie has good health and success for the sake of their daughter.”
Yikes! This sounds like it’s starting to get messy… We hope for the sake of their daughter they can just handle things amicably as possible!
