Nick Cannon and Lanisha Cole are showing what it looks like to put their child first.
The pair recently came together for a family outing at the opening of the Toys R Us flagship store at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey.
In photos shared on Instagram, Cannon and Cole were joined by their daughter Onyx, along with Lanisha’s mother and another family member, as they made the most of the day together.
After the outing, Lanisha took to Instagram Stories to answer questions from followers and share a bit more about where she and Nick currently stand as co-parents.
“I’m proud to say that we’re committed to making it work!” she wrote. “Sometimes a little time/space is all you need to recalibrate and get things back on track.”
For Lanisha, the effort has paid off.
“Onyx’s smile today is worth everything it took to get here.”
As questions continued, some followers turned their attention to Lanisha’s personal life, specifically her relationship with her boyfriend, Bee.
She confirmed that they are still together and explained that her relationship has not created any barriers when it comes to Onyx spending time with her father.
“The ladies are stressed asking about Bee lol,” she wrote. “He’s great! I’m transparent about everything with him. And what I love is that he’s beyond supportive and ALWAYS encouraging of Onyx spending quality time with her Dada! He knows my heart and my character.”
Right now, Lanisha says the focus is exactly where she wants it to be.
“Right now it’s about Onyx bonding with Dada and it’s been beautiful ,” she added.
She also made it clear that her daughter remains the priority above all else.
“It’s not about me or anyone else other than her and her Dad.”
The message resonated with followers, including one who replied, “You’re a great co-parent. One of the toughest jobs out there!”
