Marvel Reportedly Checks In On Preschool ‘Spider-Man’ Show For Potential MCU Conflicts

Is Spidey and His Amazing Friends key to the MCU? Marvel reportedly has a special team to keep the Spider-Man series in line with future productions.

If one isn’t a child under the age of 5 or old enough to have a child under the age of 5, it’s likely that Spidey and His Amazing Friends rings as many bells as Skibidi Toilet and Fanum Tax. However, the show is incredibly popular (likely in no small part due to its use of Spider-Man) among its preschool audience. And, while it’s not in the MCU, it likely goes a long way in hooking fans on the Marvel IP from a very young age.

Yet it seems as though, while Spidey and His Amazing Friends aren’t a part of the MCU, their stories still have to abide by it. A new report from The Wrap revealed that Marvel frequently has check-ins with the team behind the pre-school show to make sure the series doesn’t conflict with their blockbuster film franchise, which itself includes a variant of Spider-Man.

“And while no one would mistake Spidey and His Amazing Friends for being part of the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is a ‘master plan’ that comes down from leadership and there’s frequent communication with the Spidey team to make sure that nothing the Disney show is planning will conflict with what the larger MCU is doing, Wilcox said.”

How A Pre-School Show Affects Spider-Man’s MCU Story

This is a line that many could graze over as yet another example of the intense control Marvel has over its IP. However, the wording that the team doesn’t want Spidey and His Amazing Friends to conflict with the MCU does reveal some interesting details namely, that any prominent events in the pre-school series are likely to happen to the live-action variant of Spider-Man anytime soon.

The article itself referenced the introduction of Symbie, a new symbiote recently introduced in the comics as the prisoner of Xenozoologist Xanto Starblood, making their debut in Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Their presence likely means Marvel has no plans to use them in the MCU. Though given the preschool show also featured Spider-Man facing off against a female Doc Ock and Ultron, it’s likely neither will be major villains in future projects.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31st, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future!
