The Shop turned up at Fanatics Fest 2026 with a camera. The resulting gallery raises more questions than it answers.

The lifestyle and media brand co-founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter posted a multi-image gallery on Instagram from the event this week. The caption was five words and a camera emoji: “Fanatics Fest, through our lens.” Photography was credited to @visualsbyave. No subjects were named, and no additional context appeared.

The photos are out. The story behind them isn’t.

Fanatics Fest is the annual sports and pop culture convention organized by Fanatics, one of the biggest names in licensed sports merchandise and collectibles. The company holds licensing agreements with the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL, among other major professional leagues. The festival draws athletes, entertainers, collectors, and brands for a multi-day weekend of signings, appearances, panels, and activations. It’s grown into one of the bigger events in the fan-experience calendar. Serious fans and casual ones have both made it a regular stop.

The Shop turning up here isn’t random. LeBron James has significant business interests across sports and media, and Fanatics has grown into one of the central players in athlete-facing commerce. The audience overlap between the two brands is real and considerable.

LeBron James and Maverick Carter launched The Shop as an HBO talk show built around a simple premise. Put famous athletes and celebrities in a barbershop setting, roll the cameras, and let the conversations run. Past guests have included Barack Obama, Kevin Durant, and others from across sports and entertainment. The candor was always the selling point. The show moved from HBO to YouTube, and The Shop has since expanded into a broader media and lifestyle company under their SpringHill umbrella. SpringHill has taken on original projects and documentaries beyond The Shop format, extending the brand’s presence further in entertainment.

The framing on this gallery matters. “Through our lens” is a deliberate phrase choice. The Shop isn’t here as a spectator. It’s a brand built around shaping what gets shown and how. Crediting @visualsbyave as the sole named creative collaborator points to a real working relationship, not a quick assignment.

No subjects from the gallery have been identified as of today. No follow-up content has appeared. The Shop hasn’t added any context to the post since the gallery went up. The gallery has drawn over 17,000 likes on Instagram.

This could be standalone Fanatics Fest coverage. A deeper project between The Shop and Fanatics may also be in the works. Neither has been confirmed. Both brands operate at the crossroads of sports, celebrity, and consumer culture. A collaboration between them would fit.

The gallery is out there. The rest of the story is still developing.
