Since its launch back in 2022, Elden Ring has cemented itself as a modern-day classic. Going on to welcome a hit DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, a roguelike spin-off with Elden Ring: Nightreign, an upcoming live-action movie, and a beloved manga series, it is hard to believe that the game has not even celebrated its 5th anniversary yet.
Offering players the first FromSoftware title with an open-world and non-linear progression, many consider Elden Ring to be the studio’s magnum opus, but with titles such as Dark Souls and Bloodborne under its belt, this is a tough statement to make. Regardless of what you feel about Elden Ring, there is no denying that it has made a major impact in the gaming sphere, which is why it comes as no surprise that FromSoftware is planning to capitalize on its success.
As such, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is currently in development which not only adds exclusive content to the game as we know it, but will also launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. However, whilst we do not yet have an official release date for the brand-new edition, it seems as though one retailer may have just spilled the beans.
First spotted on Reddit, Canadian video games and collectibles retailer, PNP Games, has listed the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on its site, allowing customers to pre-order it ahead of its 10 July 2026 launch. So, could we be getting the brand-new Elden Ring edition in just two months? Well, this brand-new listing seemingly thinks so, with customers expected to pay $80.99 for the privilege. Not only that, but it will seemingly launch as a Game-Key Card only title on this date. At the time of writing, the listing has not been removed, so it remains to be seen how Bandai Namco will deal with this apparent leak.
As for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, it is set to launch with both Elden Ring’s base game as well as its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Not only that, but it will also include new armor and customization settings, as well as customization for your loyal stead, Torrent. Most exciting, however, is that it will welcome two new starting classes, including the Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight and, I don’t know about you, but this is going to inspire yet another playthrough for yours truly.
So, if you are looking to get Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2, this listing reveals that you may not need to wait much longer, but it remains to be seen if its July 10 release date comes true.
