Cara Delevingne steps into music with remarkable vulnerability, feeling less like a celebrity side-project and more like the arrival of an artist who’s been quietly building towards this moment for years. Across the tracks “I Forgot” and “Out of My Head”, Cara delivers an immersive seven-minute journey through dissociation, anxiety, self-discovery and survival. The accompanying short film only deepens the experience, blurring the line between reality and performance in a way that mirrors the songs themselves.

The opening moments of the first single “I Forgot” are genuinely arresting, as Cara’s voice arrives almost unaccompanied as she confesses, “I forgot that the world was real,” before a wall of distorted electronics crashes into view. From there, the track refuses to sit still, as Piano passages drift in and out of focus, synth textures swell and collapse, and dense bass frequencies create an unsettling feeling of disorientation. This song is a sonic representation of losing your footing, in which reality feels distant, and your own thoughts become impossible to escape.

The themes are heavy, but they’re delivered with a poetic touch, as throughout the song, Cara uses imagery of burning air, overwhelming heat and altered states to describe emotional exhaustion and disconnection. Rather than spelling everything out, she allows metaphors to do the work, creating a listening experience that feels intensely personal yet widely relatable.

The opening line, “Crowded, it feels like I’m surrounded,” perfectly captures the song’s central tension. What follows is a battle between overwhelm and escape, eventually exploding into bursts of drum and bass that feel less like a genre choice and more like an emotional release.
