Bring Me the Beauties is a three part docuseries about 1980s/1990s supermodel Hoyt Richards’ experience inside the Eternal Values cult. Hoyt was a 16 year old Philadelphia high school student when he first met Frederick Von Mierers who reinvented himself as a WASPy socialite of Dutch descent (his real name was Fred Meyers and he was actually from Brooklyn). Frederick befriended Hoyt, impressing him by taking Hoyt and his friends to Studio 54. It wasn’t until later that Hoyt learned Frederick claimed to be an alien “walk-in” from the star Arcturus sent to save humanity from Armageddon. When Hoyt’s modeling career took off, he was giving almost all of his money to the cult while sleeping on the floor of Frederick’s apartment.
Freddy was a follower of Edgar Cayce who believed that a pole shift would occur one day, where the north and south pole would switch and recalibrate, wiping out 99% of the earth’s population. This resulted in Freddy’s cult having a doomsday/apocalypse vibe, eventually building a compound in North Carolina stocked with guns, gold, and four years worth of food. Hoyt eventually left the cult with the help of fellow model Fabio (!!). Freddy died just a few days before Vanity Fair published an exposé about the Eternal Values cult in 1990.
