Blondshell has announced her new album, Violins, out Sept. 25 via Partisan Records.
Violins was produced with Yves Rothman, who worked on Blondshell’s debut album and 2025’s If You Asked For A Picture. After working together on the demos, Blondshell and Rothman recorded live with the band.

“I felt like I wasn’t walking in the dark anymore,” she says of the recording process. “I spend more time with Yves than almost anybody — we just have such an efficient working relationship.”
Previewing the album is the title track, which captures the LP’s central themes: the contrast between tenderness and violence.
“This song sums up the album in a lot of ways,” Blondshell says. “When I was writing, I felt really drawn to images of patience and kindness — for example putting your head on someone’s shoulder — alongside images of violence. I was also inspired by the idea of healing slowly and refusing to be rushed by any outside force. Things genuinely just take the time they take. I’m not at a point in life where I can have a no assholes policy yet, but I like the idea of weeding out people that aren’t going to let me have limitations.”
Last month, Blondshell released the album’s first single, “Heart Has to Work So Hard,” and announced a headline tour across North America, Europe, and the U.K. later this fall with support from Bully, Starcleaner Reunion, Prewn, TTSSFU, and Theatre.
