One of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars galaxy might be heading to the big screen for her very own spinoff, if the original Ahsoka Tano has her way.

Ashley Eckstein, who has been the voice of Ahsoka since her debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars back in 2008, says she dreams of leading an animated movie centered on the fan-favorite Jedi.

As the Star Wars universe continues to expand with projects like Jon Favreau’s upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu, Eckstein believes there’s still a lot of untapped potential for Ahsoka’s story. Speaking with ComicBook, she shared her vision and her hope that fans could help make it happen:

“You know, personally, I would love more Ahsoka in animation. And I think there’s a lot more stories left to tell… And you know what? I am going to give you something because this is a dream of mine.

“I talk a lot about manifesting your dreams. I would love for one day to have an animated Ahsoka movie. I would love that… It’s something I dream about quite often, actually, and I’m a believer, and you’ve got to take your dreams out of your head and throw them out into the universe.

“So you know what? I will throw that out into the universe. I would love to have an animated Ahsoka movie at some point.”

While Lucasfilm hasn’t announced anything yet, Eckstein is convinced the power of fandom could bring such a project to life. She reminded fans that their voices helped shape Ahsoka’s live-action debut when Rosario Dawson was cast.

“You know, Dave Filoni came out and admitted that he cast Rosario Dawson because of the fan cast. The fans started asking for her as a token, and that is what brought Rosario to his attention.”

Eckstein also pointed out that there’s still a big gap in Ahsoka’s story between The Clone Wars and the live-action Ahsoka series, leaving plenty of room for new animated adventures.

“There’s so many stories left to tell. There’s such a big gap still between Clone Wars and where we pick up with the Ahsoka series.

“There’s so much more for me personally that I would like to do with Ahsoka. I think there’s a lot more room for Ahsoka in animation. And so if there’s something you want to see, say it.”

For now, fans can enjoy Eckstein’s emotional return to the role in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past, now streaming on Disney+. The project marks her first time voicing Ahsoka since Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi in 2022, and coming back to the character meant a lot to her.

“I definitely cried, because Dave Filoni promised me that I’d always be the voice of Ahsoka in animation, but I don’t know if she’s going to come back.

“Just because I have this promise doesn’t mean we’re going to hear her again. I just kind of sit and wait until I get the call, and so when I got the call, it was definitely tears of joy for sure.”

On top of that, Eckstein said working on the LEGO project felt like a perfect blend of two passions.

“I’m a massive LEGO fan as well. So to get to do to mashup two of my great loves, LEGO and Star Wars, was really cool.”

Whether or not Eckstein gets her animated Ahsoka movie, it’s clear she isn’t done with the character any time soon. With fans rallying behind her and so many untold stories left to explore, it doesn’t feel too far-fetched to imagine Ahsoka taking center stage on the big screen once again.
