HUGE update in the wrongful death lawsuit over Aaron Carter!

As you know, the pop star died in November 2022. His official cause of death stated that Xanax and huffing led to his drowning in the bathtub. But nearly a year after Aaron’s passing, his ex-fiancée, Melanie Martin, filed a lawsuit on behalf of their son, Princeton Lyric Carter, alleging that the doctors, dentists, mental health clinics, and pharmacies that prescribed him various medications caused his death.

The suit claimed the physicians prescribed Aaron these three drugs with zero medical justification and despite knowing his “mental health and psychiatric condition” — Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam (generic of Xanax). And she argued the drugs and quantities, along with his history, should have raised red flags for these medical professionals.

Now, it appears part of the suit is coming to an end. New legal documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday revealed that one psychiatrist and a mental health clinic reached a financial settlement in April. The details of the payout and conditions are unknown as they are to remain confidential.

Walgreens, a Santa Monica dentist, and a Santa Monica pharmacy are also in the lawsuit, but they have not settled. If they do, we’ll keep you posted.
