Could Hugh Jackman be making his return in Avengers: Doomsday? Recent social media posts have fans speculating he may not be done as Wolverine just yet.
When it was first announced that Hugh Jackman would be making his return as the iconic hero in Deadpool and Wolverine, longtime fans were content with the decision, seeing it as a victory lap for his long tenure as the character. However, given that Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars were right around the corner, many of them also knew deep down that his time as the Canadian Claw-Man was far from over.
Speculation on this front has died down a bit as Avengers: Doomsday enters production, as there became more pressing matters to speculate about. However, two recent social media posts have lit the internet on fire. The first shows Hugh Jackman back at the gym, seemingly preparing his body to return as Wolverine once more with some truly impressive weights.
Will Hugh Jackman Return In Avengers: Doomsday?
Of course, exercise on its own is not enough evidence that someone is playing Wolverine. However, shortly after this post Hugh Jackman released another, with an image of him from Deadpool And Wolverine reading “Put Me In, Coach”. While the quote itself is one Jackman has admitted he’s fond of, this in combination with the prior exercise video may be teasing he wants to be “put in” for a return in Avengers: Doomsday.
With filming for Avengers: Doomsday likely continuing for some more weeks, it’s likely that fans may be able to spot Hugh Jackman in one of the project’s many filming locations. This would all but confirm the actor’s return as Wolverine, likely being featured in both this film and Secret Wars. Though given how massive the cast already is, it’s likely he won’t be getting TOO much screentime!
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
