If you’re a Rekordbox user who doesn’t own a DDJ-GRV6 controller, you’ve probably got a load of stock drum loops cluttering up your library. Delete them, and they just come back on restart – it’s a known headache. MixMasterG (the man behind DJCU and DJ Touch 1 Deluxe) showed us the fix, and we’re passing it on.
Why deleting them doesn’t work (and what does)
Rekordbox bundles these loops for use with the Groove Circuit feature on the DDJ-GRV6 unit. There’s a setting under Extensions called “Drum Loop Audio: Automatically Import Audio Files” that’s supposed to control this – but it’s greyed out.

The reason? It only becomes available once the stems engine is installed, which Rekordbox doesn’t do by default. So here’s how to get rid of them for good:
Delete all the drum loops from your collection Go to Settings and enable stems – Rekordbox will download and install the stems engine Head back to the bottom of Extensions – drum loop audio is now available, turn it off If you don’t want stems either, turn that off too – the drum loop setting stays off Restart Rekordbox – they’re gone, and this time they stay gone!
