Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna’s friendship is strained because it hit a “breaking point,” according to a new book called Gwyneth: The Biography.
In the book, journalist Amy O’Dell alleges that the Goop founder and the Queen of Pop had a moment that fractured their friendship.
“Their relationship reached a breaking point when Madonna showed up to an island where Gwyneth and [Chris] Martin were vacationing,” she wrote in the forthcoming book, out July 29.
“Madonna seemed to know that Gwyneth would be there, which Gwyneth seemed to find strange,” a friend told the author.

According to the author, the 66-year-old singer insisted that the couple, who were married from 2003 to 2016, join her for dinner.
At the dinner table, Madonna allegedly “went off on her daughter Lourdes,” making the two “disgusted by [her] behavior.”
“I can’t be around this woman anymore,” Chris allegedly told his then-wife. “She’s awful.”
Gwyneth allegedly agreed with Chris, and cut ties with Madonna.
While the two were friends for years, by 2010, a source told Us Weekly that Madonna and Gwyneth “don’t speak” anymore. That same year, Gwyneth confirmed her personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, no longer worked with Madonna, and they haven’t been photographed together since.
