Hold up! It turns out Mikayla Matthews and her hubby are still together after all!
During Season 4 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the 25-year-old reality star separated from her husband, Jace Terry, amid their intimacy issues years after she was sexually abused as a child. She gave an update on where things stood with him to People after the episodes dropped on Thursday, saying:
“Last season, we dove into the beginning stages of it, and that was me revisiting all this trauma for the first time as well. It’s still new to me, and it’s new to him, and we’re just navigating it the best way that we can. Unfortunately, I think it’s just something that’s going take a lot more time. I feel like that’s all I can say on it now.”

Reading the statement, it sounds like the pair is separated! However, Mikayla spoke to a different outlet on Thursday, insisting they are back together now! HUH!
The MomTok star explained to Entertainment Tonight that everything, between her health, intimacy, and marriage problems, is “still a work in progress.” That said, Mikayla clarified that she and Jace aren’t separated at this time when asked. The only thing is she has to leave their house and stay elsewhere most of the time because she thinks their home is making her sick:
“No. Well, we’re — I mean, I go into AirBnBs all the time for my health a lot of the time. I think my house is what’s making me sick, and so I’ll go to hotels or I’ll go here. Sometimes the kids and him come with me, and sometimes they don’t. But we are also very open with our kids, and they know the situation. They know, like mommy’s rashes and the mold in the house and all this stuff. So, they know what’s going on, and we want to make it as comfortable for them as we can, too, because it is a lot of figuring things out, and I don’t know what to figure out at the same time. Yeah, it’s a lot of moving around, but we’re still together and working on it.”
Oh, wow! They aren’t broken up! Why would she make the above statement then? It gave everyone the totally wrong idea! Mikayla continued:
“We balance each other out perfectly, and I think he is so patient with these issues, even though he’s never going to fully understand them. He’s been giving me so much grace, so much patience with it. He’s such a good dad. He’s in his stay-at-home dad role right now, and he has so much patience with the kids. I feel like he was made for that. But, yeah, he really does. He does just adore me.”
Let’s hope Mormon Wives does a reunion this season! We need them to give more details on their separation, when they rekindled, and more! Watch the interview (below):
