A man walking into the store can be seen in the footage swooping down and “snatching” the toddler by her legs before attempting to run off with her.
However, his attempt was unsuccessful, as the heroic mother held onto her daughter until others stepped in to help stop the man.
The girl’s “father, security guards, and bystanders subdued the attacker until the police arrived,” according to police.
Authorities conducted an investigation after arresting him, leading him to be charged with “attempted aggravated kidnapping, as it was committed against a minor, and aggravated assault.”
The footage was dated Saturday (February 14) by NBC News.
While the girl was safely rescued from the man’s clutches, she did suffer an injury in the attack. Police said that she was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that she had fractured her femur.
The family and the suspect have not been identified by name at this point in time.
