Travis Scott is reflecting on how becoming a father has given him a new perspective on life.
The rapper, who shares daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3, with ex Kylie Jenner, said parenthood has changed the way he moves. “You can’t crash out. You can’t do a lot of crazy s— like you would,” he told Rolling Stone
Scott also shared that both of his children take after him creatively, especially when it comes to getting excited about new ideas.
“My kids are just like me when it comes to trying to get off ideas,” he explained. He recalled a recent moment with his son that stood out. “My son’s 3 now, about to be 4,” Scott said. “I took him to the Disney Imagineering spot, and his mind was just going off when he seen the robots and all the new tech and how it’s built.”
While Scott encourages curiosity and imagination, he said he is intentional about limiting certain types of technology at home. In the interview, the musician revealed that his children do not use artificial intelligence tools. “My kids don’t have AI,” he shared. “Having AI right now will compress their ability for their brain to maximize.”
Scott said he wants his children to focus on learning in a more hands-on way before relying on advanced technology. “So they got to learn the physical and the actual way of learning so then they know how to actually use AI to their best ability,” he said. “Because if it’s doing everything for you, how do you even know what’s right or wrong?”
As for his music, Scott said fans can expect new material soon, though he remained vague about the timeline. “Got to feed the kids, man. The kids must eat.”
Scott said he is currently working on a new album that he hopes will translate to large-scale live performances.
“When I make the music, I have this full vision. I see it going down,” he said. “I’m thinking stadium status. How could people so far away feel so close? How can the music be so big but grounded? Taking raw elements and making it feel, like, euphoric. Man, finding new rhythms, but nothing too hard to take in. You know what I’m saying? A level of what could Rodeo be like on the ultra-scale stadium life.”
