If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a piece of superhero movie history, now’s your chance, as long as you’ve got a seriously deep wallet. The actual red and blue Spider-Man suit worn by Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2 is hitting the auction block, and it’s expected to fetch somewhere between $100,000 and $200,000. Bidding closes on September 4, 2025.
The listing went live on Propstore Auction’s site and describes the suit as the real deal, designed by legendary costume designer James Acheson and used during the production of both Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. This particular suit was actually worn by Maguire on set and shows the wear to prove it.
“This costume was used during the production of both films and is believed to have been heavily used on the set. It represents the first film-used Tobey Maguire Spider-Man suit ever offered at auction by Propstore and stands as a rare and highly desirable piece from the definitive live-action Spider-Man trilogy.
“As an emblem of one of the most beloved superhero portrayals, it embodies the technical innovation and visual legacy of Sam Raimi’s groundbreaking franchise.”
The original bidding price starts at $50,000, but expect that number to climb quickly given the iconic nature of the piece and the global fan love for Maguire’s Spidey. Remember, Spider-Man 2 was a game-changer for superhero films, pulling in over $784 million worldwide on a $200 million budget.
Over the years, the suit has taken some damage, but it’s been carefully restored for display. Propstore notes that some parts were “restored using urethane web replicas cast from original molds.”
And while more work could be done, the team was cautious with the repairs. “Additional restoration work could be undertaken, but care has been taken not to overstretch the webbing during display, and the suit presents impressively as-is.”
This is the first time a film-used Tobey Maguire Spider-Man suit has been made available through Propstore, making it a rare collectible for any Marvel or movie memorabilia collector. If you’ve got the funds and the passion, this suit could be yours. Just don’t expect it to give you any wall-crawling powers.
