The Princess of Wales brought back a Self Portrait design for today’s Easter Matins service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.

More from this People piece.
While William, 43, and Kate, 44, have long marked Easter with the royal family — with William taking part in the tradition since childhood — the couple missed the annual outing in both 2024 and 2025, making this year’s appearance a notable return.
They skipped the 2024 service after Princess Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis just weeks earlier, choosing instead to spend the holiday privately with their children. Last year, the family spent Easter more than 100 miles from Windsor at their Norfolk country home, where they often retreat during school breaks.
A sizable group of Royal Family members joined the King and Queen for the service. In the photo below, you can see the Princess Royal in deep teal or turquoise, her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence (behind Prince William), the Duke of Edinburgh, and his son, James, Earl of Wessex, Peter Phillips and his fiancée, Harriet Sperling, Daniel Chatto, and Lady Sarah Chatto.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was reported to be a bit under the weather, and Lady Louise Windsor is studying at college. Here is a video shared by Rebecca English of The Daily Mail of family members arriving at the chapel.

Cheers were heard from onlookers as Prince William and Catherine led their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, into the chapel.
As they walked, Princess Charlotte waved to the crowds of people watching on from behind barriers.

We learn more about today’s events from this Daily Mail article.
After the hour-long service – during which prayers were said for the Royal Family and the National Anthem sung – the royal party moved from the chapel to the deanery for tea with the Dean of Windsor, The Right Reverend Christopher Cocksworth.
After around 20 minutes, Charles appeared alongside Camilla, who was presented with a beautiful posy by Kit Bannan, 10, a member of the Windsor Castle community.

The couple did a walkabout, greeting well-wishers gathered nearby.

We return to the BBC piece.
As they left the chapel, the King and Queen shook the hands of the public, wishing them a happy Easter.
The Queen remarked that the service was “good” when asked how it was.

We move now to what Kate wore for Easter 2026.

We begin with her Self Portrait Belted Cream Crepe Lace Embroidered Jacket Dress (no longer available) in 100% polyester, described as a “midi wrap dress… cut from crepe …designed with a long-sleeve bodice that is fitted at the waist with a leather belt and falls to a pleated midi skirt. The shoulders are accentuated with shoulder pads.”

The style was first worn for an engagement with Princess Anne in April 2022.

The Princess debuted a new chapeau by Juliette Botterill today: the Oak Leaf Teardrop Hat (£680, roughly $900 at today’s exchange rates) in the color “Oyster.” It is a teardrop-shaped percher style in sculpted felt with hand-cut oak leaves, “worn on a slim headband with hat elastic, available in your choice of hair colour for a secure and comfortable fit.”

The Princess repeated her Nano Montreal Bag ($450) in Deep Toffee Smooth by DeMellier London, measuring about 7″ x 5″ and featuring a top handle and a detachable crossbody strap.

She brought back her Ralph Lauren Celia Calfskin Pumps ($750) in the “RL Gold” colorway.

We also saw the return of the Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings and the Princess’s unidentified cross pendant.

I’ll leave you with one more photo from today.

Happy Easter and Chag Pesach Sameach to all celebrating Easter and Passover.
