The Princess of Wales wore new pieces for a meeting today with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Dame Sarah Mullally at Lambeth Palace, the Archbishop’s official London residence. Dame Sarah is the first female Archbishop of Canterbury in the Church’s history.

Kate Mansey of The Times shared a video as the royals and the Archbishop were seated in her study.

More on today’s visit from the UK Press Association via this piece in The Argus.

It is understood the visit reflects the importance the prince and princess place on faith and the couple want to build a strong working relationship with the senior cleric.

The visit comes after Dame Sarah made the oath of allegiance to the sovereign on Wednesday, in which she acknowledged the King as the supreme governor of the Church of England, in a traditional ceremony dating back to the reign of Elizabeth I.

Dame Sarah was confirmed as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury last week in a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

There will be an Installation service at Canterbury Cathedral in March.

More on today’s visit via The Telegraph’s coverage.

The couple spent their time with her discussing the role of churches in communities across the country and the work of The Royal Foundation. The Prince and Princess’s 30-minute meeting with the Archbishop also saw the couple discuss access to green space in the capital city.

The Princess honed in on the gardens outside her study and remarked: “Particularly in the centre of London, it’s actually amazing how much green space there is.”

Speaking after the meeting, the Archbishop said: “I know we hold the same hope for a better world, and I look forward to working together in the years to come. I will continue to hold them and their family in my prayers.”

Now, for our look at what Kate wore today.

Her coat looks like a bespoke Catherine Walker design, much like the one she has also worn in black and navy.

It features elements similar to those seen in the Catherine Walker Yves style: a single-breasted design with notch lapels, a back vent, and raised shoulders. Obviously, the Princess’s version does not have the slit cuffs or other features seen in the Yves.

The Princess appears to be wearing a new Edeline Lee dress, the brand’s Jete Crop Dress ($2080) in ‘Flou Bubble Jacquard,’ a style made in England in fabric manufactured in Italy from the A/W 2025 collection. The dress is snug through the bodice, waist, and hips before flaring into a full skirt, one of the Princess’s favorite silhouettes. It is made of polyester with a touch of elastane and features a round neckline, a hidden back zipper, and a self-belt; the Princess’s buckle is also covered in fabric to match the dress.

The long sleeve version is available in very limited sizes at SOSUSU, a New Orleans boutique. The sleeveless style is offered at Edeline Lee ($2020). As shown in these close-ups, the fabric has a pebbled texture.

Thank you to Royally Inspired and Kate Middleton Styled for the coat and dress IDs.

The Princess brought back her Gianvito 105 pumps in ‘chocolate’ suede, the brand’s point-toe style with a spike heel. It is available at Farfetch ($795),

It appeared the Princess wore a new Daniella Draper necklace, the Gold Keeper’s Heart Trace Chain Necklace ($2200) with personalization ($21). It is made with recycled 9ct yellow gold, and the description says it “symbolises love and connection”.

Thank you to Irish Sara and Kate Middleton Styled for their speedy necklace ID. The Princess also wore her Cartier Trinity earrings. UPDATE: With thanks to Berry Rose for pointing this out in a comment, it’s possible the Princess is wearing the version of the necklace set with diamonds. It’s tough to tell because I do not have terrific close-up photos today, but I think Berry Rose is probably correct.

Also in today’s coverage, the Princess marked World Cancer Day with a video released by Kensington Palace.

The Princess speaks about the “fear and exhaustion” experienced by cancer patients in the 40-second video.

From the Princess’s voice track: “Cancer touches so many lives. Not only patients, but the families and friends and caregivers who walk beside them. As anyone who has experienced this journey will know, it’s not linear. There are moments of fear and exhaustion. But also moments of strength, kindness, and profound connection.”

The video used in the piece is from the Princess’s January 2025 visit to the Royal Marsden, where she was treated.

The Princess was also wearing Edeline Lee, the Plait Skirt ($890), when she visited the Royal Marsden last January.
