Prime Video has confirmed the renewal of The Legend of Vox Machina for Season 5. With Season 4 set to arrive in 2026 and fresh hints of Vecna’s return, fans now brace for the show’s next chapter. While full plot details remain under wraps, early footage suggests something big is coming.
The Legend of Vox Machina Season 5 gets renewed, will be the last one
Prime Video announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 that The Legend of Vox Machina will return for a fifth and final season. This announcement came before the release of Season 4, which will premiere in 2026. The final season will likely debut in 2027 or 2028, depending on production timeline
Amazon MGM Studios posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Oh, and one more thing, The Legend of Vox Machina has been renewed for a fifth and final season!”
Executive producers Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham stated, “We’re so grateful to our fans, the Critters, our partners at Prime Video, and the original Kickstarter backers for bringing this show to life, and turning the numbskulls of Vox Machina into animation legends.”
Season 4 begins after the group defeats the Chroma Conclave. A new threat emerges while the party members remain scattered across the world. A sneak peek showed a glowing scroll hidden in the Cobalt Archives and a dark figure resembling Vecna watching from a ruined ziggurat, suggesting a heist-style plot and reunion arc. Season 4 will also introduce new characters, including Taryon Darrington and his mechanical companion Doty.
The Legend of Vox Machina is based on Critical Role’s first campaign, voiced by original cast members Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham.
Critical Role’s second campaign, The Mighty Nein, also received an update at Comic-Con. The animated series will premiere on November 19, 2025, on Prime Video. The story follows a group of misfits entangled in a race to stop an artifact that could alter reality. A Critical Role video game set in Exandria is also in development.
