Is Eve Teschmacher the key to understanding Superman? Sara Sampaio confirms some new information about her role in the DC Universe.
Superman is truly packed to the gills, incorporating dozens of characters from across the DC Universe. While great for fans, it does mean that some characters have been left on the wayside when it comes to speculation. Perhaps the most prominent is Eve Teschmacher, played by Sara Sampaio, who serves as the assistant to Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor in the film.
Luckily, DC Studios has been releasing interviews to help shed light on these lesser-focused on characters. Sara Sampaio appeared alongside Anthony Carrigan in the most recent video to discuss her role as Eve Teschmacher in Superman. While details were kept close to the chest, she did suggest that her character may be one of the most morally complex in the DC Universe.
“Lex just wants to take down Superman, and I’m just happy that my boyfriend is rich and takes me to all these places,” Sampaio explains during a recent appearance on DC Studios Showcase. “But I actually do have a heart, and I have…you know, I can actually tell what’s right from wrong-ish, you know? But I do have a line, you know?”
What Is Sara Sampaio’s Role In Superman?
This interview confirms what many fans have thought ever since Sara Sampaio was first cast in Superman. Eve Teschmacher will essentially serve as the “anti-Lois Lane”. Not just in the fact that she’s dating the villain and not Superman. Rather, because her role in the DC Universe seems to be naturally incurious with wavering morals and a lack of trust in her partner.
While this doesn’t reveal much about what role Eve Teschmacher will play in the plot of Superman, Sara Sampaio may have revealed just enough information for fans to come to their own conclusions. It’s possible that Eve will make a face turn in the DC Universe’s freshman outing, deciding to help the good guys take down Lex Luthor after he crosses the aforementioned “line”.
