Cult fan favourite musical Ride the Cyclone is returning to London’s Southwark Playhouse Elephant this summer for a limited run.
The production received its UK premiere at the venue in November last year, and will now be returning for another stint between June 19 – August 22, 2026. Priority tickets go on sale 11am tomorrow (Tuesday March 17). General on sale is at 11am Wednesday March 18. Casting for the new run will be announced in due course.
Written by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, Ride the Cyclone follows six teenagers who are killed in a freak rollercoaster accident. Trapped in limbo, they are offered one more chance at life , so one by one they must convince an enigmatic figure that they are the one most deserving of a second chance.
The show will be produced by Kevin McCollum, Morris Berchard, and Jack Maple. Of the return, they said: “We couldn’t be more excited to bring Ride the Cyclone back for another ride. We were delighted that we sold out our initial run, and are thrilled to be returning to Southwark in 2026 to give those who missed out on tickets the first time around a chance to ride the cyclone.”
The production will be directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee, with musical direction by Ben McQuigg. Further creatives include: set and costume design by Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting design by Tim Deiling, video design by Nina Dunn for PixelLux, sound design by Tom Marshall and casting by Harry Blumenau. Production management is by Toby P Darvill for Production Solutions Group, with general management by Jack Maple Productions.
