RHONY Star Racquel Chevremont SUES Ex-Fiancée Mickalene Thomas For Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, & Theft!
The drama in New York isn’t just on Bravo — it’s now in the courtroom. Real Housewives of New York City star Racquel Chevremont has filed a jaw-dropping $10 million lawsuit against her ex-fiancée, famed mixed media artist Mickalene Thomas, and the accusations are messy.
According to court docs filed on August 8 in New York State Supreme Court, Racquel claims Mickalene not only sexually harassed her but also created a “hostile” and “abusive” work environment while allegedly pocketing millions that didn’t belong to her.
The 54-year-old Bravo star says Mickalene “illegally diverted significant funds and business opportunities” from their shared business into her own company — leaving Racquel with nothing, despite contributing “immeasurably” to Mickalene’s rise in the art world.
“From 2012 to 2022, Ms. Chevremont, who is also Ms. Thomas’ former fiancée, contributed immeasurably to Ms. Thomas’ artistic and commercial success, acting as a strategic advisor, and liaison to galleries, collectors, and institutions,” her filing reads. “Despite these work-related contributions, Ms. Chevremont was paid improperly for more than a decade.”
But it doesn’t stop there. Racquel accuses Mickalene of pressuring her to rekindle their romance long after their 2020 split — and claims she was fired when she refused.
“Mickalene repeatedly and improperly pressured Ms. Chevremont to resume their romantic relationship, and ultimately terminated Ms. Chevremont’s employment… when she made it clear this would never happen,” the docs allege.
Racquel, who joined RHONY in 2024, is seeking no less than $10 million in damages, plus attorney’s fees, court costs, and interest — saying she endured “years of exploitation, nonpayment, and unlawful conduct.” The couple, once known as “Deux Femmes Noires,” had been a celebrated power duo since 2002, showcasing Black and LGBTQ+ artists.
Mickalene’s art has been displayed at MoMA, the National Portrait Gallery, and even in Jay-Z’s offices — with one portrait of Racquel selling for a staggering $1.8 million. Now, their picture-perfect partnership is shattered. Mickalene has under three weeks to respond to the explosive allegations.
