Reloop has announced the PTB-2, an ultra-compact 2+1-channel DJ mixer designed specifically for portable and truly mobile DJ set-ups. The mixer features an integrated USB-C audio interface with Djay Pro DVS support, Bluetooth connectivity, and – crucially for portablists – the ability to run entirely from USB-C power, meaning no mains outlet required.

Next to a phone, you can see how tiny this mixer is – and yes, they have gone for the tacky literal blue tooth on the Bluetooth button again.

The PTB-2 sits squarely in the portablism category that this company has been cultivating with products like the Reloop Spin portable turntable. They’re pitching this as the missing piece for DJs who want a genuinely mobile vinyl or DVS set-up – just pair it with a couple of portable turntables and a power bank, and you’ve got a complete rig that can go anywhere. It measures just 105mm x 200mm x 60mm and weighs 700g, so it should slip into a bag without drama.

What’s under the hood

The channel layout is straightforward: two identical channel strips, each with gain, two-band EQ (treble and bass), and a bipolar filter. A 45mm crossfader sits between them, with adjustable curve and reverse switching. Reloop says the crossfader is RMX Innofader-compatible for those who want to upgrade down the line. Each channel has a three-way input selector for phono, line, or USB/DVS sources, with RCA inputs and a ground terminal for connecting turntables. The third channel handles Bluetooth and AUX input via a 3.5mm jack – handy for streaming backing tracks from a phone or tablet.

With the company’s own battery turntables and a power bank, this is a play-anywhere-style DVS set-up.

The built-in USB-C interface runs at 4×4 (four inputs, four outputs) and automatically unlocks DVS functionality in Algoriddim’s Djay Pro software when connected. Reloop is keen to point out that this doesn’t require a Djay Pro subscription – the DVS feature is enabled simply by connecting to the PTB-2. It would presumably work with Traktor, VirtualDJ, Mixxx etc – any other DVS set-ups that don’t need a separate licence, basically.

Power on the go

The truly tiny size and the USB-C power situation is the real selling point here. The mixer draws just 2.2W, meaning it can run from laptops, tablets, power banks, or USB-C power adapters. There’s a second USB-C port on the back that can charge mobile devices while you’re playing. Reloop claims you can power your phone or tablet from the mixer, though this only works with the included cable. Maybe adding a built-in battery (like the Raiden RPM-1000) would have been good, though.

First Thoughts

This fills an obvious (if quite niche) gap in the portable DJ market. Until now, DJs wanting a proper mobile vinyl or DVS set-up have had to cobble together solutions or accept compromises. The PTB-2 won’t replace a full-sized battle mixer, but that’s not the point – it’s more about having something small and capable enough to throw in a bag for impromptu sessions or outdoor set-ups.

The Reloop PTB-2 is available now, priced at €249. More info on the Reloop website.
