Happy birthday Apparel

Apparel Music is celebrating a decade and half of making sublime, subtly jazz-inflected deep house and garage grooves. And it’s celebrating in style.
Apparel Music B-Day 15 sees Kisk’s Milan-based label really pushing the boat out with a celebratory compilation, bringing together production wizards from all over the globe under one big birthday banner. After Kisk himself opens things up, Osunlade’s ‘Cucumber Sweat’, Marcel Vogel & LYMA’s ‘Put The Lid On’ and Eduardo’s ‘Wdac’ – among others – span the genre divide with elements of deep house, Balearic beats, classic machine funk techno, jazzy broken and nu disco.

Giuseppe D’Alessandro aka Kisk (pictured above) has kindly let us share his own, rather fine contribution, ‘I Wanna Dance With You’, exclusively with Juno Daily readers, several days ahead of its release this Friday (June 6). You lucky, lucky blighters.
“The story behind this track isn’t exactly simple,” he told us, “It’s a project I had sitting around for years, not knowing what to do with it. Then I dusted it off, gave it a modern touch, and played it to a few people close to me. They convinced me to include it on the album, honestly, it was all them, because I always tend to downplay my own stuff. I didn’t even want it to be the first track on the album! The last thing I wanted was to put myself on a pedestal as the label founder. But in the end, I realised it made sense to put it there, for the sake of the flow of the tracklist. And here we are. It could have not been there at all, and it ended up being the first track on the album… Life is unpredictable.”
