Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are celebrating a special milestone as their son Julian turns 16 today.
Both parents marked the occasion on Instagram, with Patton sharing a message about the day her son arrived and the impact he’s had on her life.
“You were born early and beat all the odds, born with fire in your eyes and a will to strive in this wonderful life. You are remarkably resilient, and your emotional strength knows no bounds!” she wrote.
She continued, “You showed me how to always lead with your heart, forgive, and live life to its fullest every single day, with a love for nature and the glorious gift of being alive! With you life is an amazing adventure! You are the greatest blessing of my life! Happy 16th birthday!”
Thicke also shared a message on social media, writing, “Happy 16th birthday, my incredible talented, kind, hard working, inspirational best son and big brother a Dad could ever want!!! I love you so much!”
Julian is the only child Patton and Thicke share together, and over the years, both parents have posted videos showing off his vocal ability. While many have expected him to follow in his father’s footsteps, Julian has said he has different plans for his future.
Patton, who was by his side at the time, reacted with a laugh. “He’s going to make my makeup run.”
During a red carpet interview with Baller Alert in 2024, he spoke about his admiration for Patton, saying, “She’s a hard worker and a great actress, and I want to be in the film [industry] one day.”
The acress has continued to support her son’s interests and encouraged him to keep building on his talents.
“God blessed you with great talent, and you have taken that talent and worked it to the fullest, dedicating yourself to be the best you can be in your singing, writing, and the visuals you create,” she said in a previous birthday post.
“You are my inspiration! I love you to the moon and back…to infinity!”
