Momma have expanded their recent album, Welcome to My Blue Sky, with a deluxe edition featuring five new songs out Nov 14. On it, the band unearth four B-sides that didn’t have a home on the original record and a cover of “Christian Brothers” by Elliott Smith/Heatmiser. From the B-sides is “Cross Your Heart,” the new single and its accompanying video from the band.
“This was one of the first songs we started working on in the writing process for Welcome to My Blue Sky,” the band explain. “We actually were messing around with this one during soundchecks while we were still touring Household Name. We always knew it had potential, but we could never fully crack it, and this was one of the first songs we started working on in the writing process for Welcome to My Blue Sky. It’s about a forbidden romance and sneaking around with another person.

“This deluxe edition has four B-sides that never made it onto the record, because we never got to a point where we felt like we could fully finish them,” Momma continue. “It features two solo acoustic songs that have always been in the back of our minds, but we hadn’t figured out how to transition them into a full band setting. We decided to record them live with acoustics and felt like that was the best way to give them justice. Wrapping the deluxe edition is our cover of the song ‘Christian Brothers’ by Elliott Smith/Heatmiser, which is a song that we have been covering and playing live since high school.”
The accompanying video, directed by Steph Rinzler, follows the band on a chaotic evening bar-hopping. “This video is rooted in the spirit of early ’90s DIY VHS culture — loose, raw, and unpolished in all the right ways,” Rinzler says. “I wanted to capture Momma in their own world, goofing around, stumbling into moments, and letting the night carry them. What unfolds is less of a traditional music video and more of a time capsule of a night out. At its core, this project was about keeping the process as fun and unselfconscious as the band is in real life.”
Momma wrapped up their headline tour across the U.S. earlier this year and a support slot for the Marias. Later this fall, they will head out on tour across Europe, Japan, and Australia with support on select dates from Teeth, Bloody Death, Hitmen, Narrow Head, Jawdropped, and Armlock.
