As they move into the next phase of their release schedule, it’s the turn of rising Latin American star MichaelBM to take on mix duties. His tight-as-you-like, Latin-influenced edit of label boss STBAN’s single ‘Amigo’ underscores his growing reputation for pushing out slick, sensual tech groovers that marry controlled percussion with deep bass and minimal melody. Top end staccato runs pinch and punch their way across growling bass and a relentless percussive line, taking STBAN’s original and redesigning it with darker dance floors in mind.
“Amigo has become an excellent opportunity to come out of the box and create a new track with a unique style,” MichaelBM said, adding the track is “definitely one of my favourite tools for my shows.”
One of the most recognised emerging producer/DJs coming through the crowded Mexican ranks, MichaelBM has already graced the decks at Lost Beach Club, Montañita Ecuador, EDC Mexico, Prague’s Duplex and more, while his productions have found their way onto speaker systems at ELROW, Tomorrowland, Medusa Festival, Musicon and EDC via Sola Recordings (Armada), CR2 Records, Helix Records (Payday Records) and Tech It Deep Records. Supported by heavyweights Gordo, Solardo, Cloonee, Carlita and Paco Osuna, it’s unsurprising his work caught the ears of STBAN and his FLAMENCA Records team.
