Meghan Markle’s family is calling her out!
This week, news broke that Thomas Markle is recovering in the Philippines after he underwent an emergency leg amputation due to a blood clot. The Duchess of Sussex is estranged from her father, but a rep confirmed to People on Friday that she checked on him following the operation:
“I can confirm she has reached out to her father.”

However, Thomas AND her sister, Samantha Markle, say she lied! What! Meg’s dad told Dailymail.com on Saturday that he is “confused” by the claim she “reached out” to him because, according to him, she never did! The 81-year-old retired lighting director noted his number hasn’t changed, so she “could always get in touch” with him, but she didn’t call him once after the surgery. A hospital source also confirmed Meghan did not contact him:
“Mr Markle is a VIP patient. Of course, we all know who he is. If Meghan or anyone connected with her had called here, we would have known. It is a big hospital by Filipino standards but we all know each other and we all talk. We were all confused when we saw the story that the duchess had reached out to her dad. As far as we are aware, it didn’t happen. We would love to see the duchess here in the Philippines!”
Even Samantha blasted the As Ever founder, saying it is all “PR bulls**t.” She first wrote on X (Twitter) in response to a tweet about Meghan’s alleged contact with Thomas:
“You’re also gullible. Believe it if he’s put on a private jet and put into one of the best hospitals in the United States for care. Until then don’t hold your breath. It’s likely a PR stunt because of public scrutiny.”
The older sister added in a follow-up post:
“Houston there’s been no contact… Time to stop the PR bulls**t Medusa.”
Samantha also stressed that “having paparazzi lurking and bushes doesn’t constitute reaching out LOL.” Yeesh. If true, that is not a good look for Meghan! Regardless of the latest drama, Thomas really does want to hear from her and her family soon.
Speaking to Dailymail.com, Thomas went on to make an urgent plea, asking the Suits alum to see him “one more time before I die.” He also said he wants to meet her husband, Prince Harry, and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, “before it’s too late,” adding:
“Of course I want to speak to her but I am not sure if these are the right circumstances. I’ve always said I am open to reconciling with my daughter. I have never stopped loving her. I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids. It might be nice to meet her husband, too.”
