Let’s be honest: Simon Cowell has nothing left to prove when it comes to building boy bands. From One Direction to Westlife, his influence runs deep through modern pop history. And yet his latest project, December 10, feels like a departure – less formulaic, more lived-in, and unmistakably of the moment!

Formed on camera during Netflix’s docuseries Simon Cowell: The Next Act – produced by Box to Box Films and Syco Entertainment – the seven-piece collective were chosen from more than a thousand hopefuls across six episodes, documenting every stage of Cowell’s search for a new boy band, from open auditions and vocal sessions to choreography, early recording days and the final line-up decision.

Never one to do things by halves, the music mogul enlisted some serious pop heavyweights to help guide the process, including vocal coach Robert “RAab” Stevenson, hitmaker Kamille, and songwriting giants Poo Bear, Julian Bunetta and Savan Kotecha. Their combined guidance sharpened the performers’ skills and quickly separated those with the range, resilience, and readiness to move forward.

Introducing December 10…

December 10

Say hello to Cruz, Danny, Hendrik, John, Josh, Nicolas, and Seán, aka December 10!

Hailing from Chorley, Rochester, Dublin, London, Lisbon and Walsall, and with Irish, Brazilian, Indian, Nigerian and Jamaican heritage between them, the uber talented, proudly inclusive seven-piece fuse rich multi-part harmonies, wide-ranging influences and distinct personalities to form a band that feels both authentic and one of a kind.

And they’re not just gifted vocalists – they’re a full-blown band in the truest sense! Collectively the boys play a whopping 14 instruments between them, dissolving the divide between chart-ready gloss and genuine musicianship.

It should come as no surprise then to learn that each of the group has previous music experience. Cruz once moonwalked his way across the West End as young Michael Jackson in Motown: The Musical. Danny, who found his footing in music while struggling at school, stepped into the spotlight on The Voice Kids in 2023. Nicolas flew the flag for Portugal at Junior Eurovision.

Hendrik, hailing from Walsall, has been writing and performing his own material – solo and in bands – since his mid-teens, while Josh quietly built a loyal Instagram following with a steady stream of covers and originals. Seán cut his teeth in choir before singing soprano with the Irish National Opera in Dublin. And John, a former chorister at Rochester Cathedral, even turned down a role in Paddington: The Musical – choosing December 10 over Paddington Bear.

“We want to make amazing music and hopefully give people something they’ve been waiting for – something for 2026 that’s bringing something a bit different,” the lads say. “We want to show people that the British boyband is back… with a bang!”

December 10 – Bye Bye Bye

Fresh from their official unveiling, and newly signed to EMI Records, December 10 are moving at a relentless pace.

After breaking the internet with their stripped-back remake of *NSYNC’s ‘Bye, Bye, Bye’, the dynamic septet dropped their highly anticipated debut single ‘Run My Way’ at the end of last month, much to the delight of ever growing army of loyal fans.

Penned and produced by pop heavyweights Savan Kotecha (Ariana Grande, The Weeknd) and Rami Yacoub (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga), the high-voltage debut is a shamelessly infectious blast of guitar-charged power pop with its sights set firmly on the world stage. Name-checking Timothée Chalamet and Sabrina Carpenter, the playful, flirtatious bop kicks off with a sugar-sweet riff that lulls you in – then detonates into a pulse-raising drum assault and a gloriously unruly, shout-it-back chorus.

The single’s accompanying video plays out like a breakneck sprint through London – darting from fly-on-the-wall studio scenes to Lime bike takeovers, rooftop link-ups and riotous spins on fairground dodgems. Directed by award-winning KC Locke (Aitch, Jorja Smith, KSI, Stormzy) and shot with a whip-smart, documentary snap, it frames December 10 at their most magnetic: all momentum, mischief and brotherhood in motion.
