The heartfelt track, which is raising money for BB With Love, is a touching tribute to Matthew’s late mother and a beacon of comfort for anyone navigating the complex emotions of grief.

Speaking to us here at CelebMix, Matthew Croke said: “Performing this song for the first time about four years ago, I remember feeling an instant connection — not just for myself, but for everyone listening. It’s one of those songs that reaches people in different ways: whether you’ve lost someone you love, been touched by cancer, or simply wanted to say thank you to the person who’s always stood by your side.
Losing my mum was, without question, the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. This song became a way for me to process that pain — it was, and still is, deeply therapeutic. After we lost her, my family and I started a charity called ‘BB With Love’, in her memory. Through sold-out concerts at Sheffield City Hall and countless other fundraisers, we’ve raised over £250,000, and this single will continue to help raise money for years to come.
I wanted to create something lasting — something that I could hold onto in the years ahead, and that others could turn to when they need comfort, connection, or simply to feel less alone. The original version of the song, by Nathan Grisdale, is truly beautiful. But I wanted to make it personal — to tell our story. So, with Nathan’s blessing, I changed the lyrics, reimagined the orchestration and arrangement, and made it my own tribute to my mum. This song means everything to me. I’m incredibly proud of it, and I hope it brings others the same sense of love, strength, and peace that it’s brought me.”
