Mason Thames is opening up about filming movies back-to-back.
The 18-year-old actor filmed the recently released Black Phone 2 right after the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, and he shared that it was a process to shed his Dragon character Hiccup.

“Yeah, I mean, I went from How to Train Your Dragon to Black Phone 2, and that was a process of getting out of Hiccup,” he shared with People.
“‘Cause [Hiccup is] such a — it was such a specific character, and I really wanted to get it down. So … I worked a lot [on] the physicality and the voice … and going straight to Black Phone [I] was maybe sometimes talking a little faster [than Finney], maybe sounding like Hiccup,” Mason added.
“And [the director], Scott [Derrickson], would just go, ‘I hear Hiccup.’ I was like, ‘Ah, damn. Sorry, sorry.’ But it’s kind of a thing where it is a process of getting outta some characters.”
Speaking of How To Train Your Dragon, Mason previously revealed that he was starting work on the upcoming sequel this month!
While the first movie was a straight adaptation of the animated version, the writer and director teased the sequel could stray from it’s animated counterpart…
