Lorde has confirmed a June 27 launch date for her subsequent Republic album, Virgin, which was preceded final week by the only “What Was That.” That observe was co-produced by Lorde in tandem with in-demand hitmakers Jim-E Stack and Daniel Nigro and is augmented with a video filmed in New York’s Washington Sq. Park.
Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged and Buddy Ross even have writing credit on Virgin, which Lorde recorded partially at New York’s Flux Studio. The album was blended by Tom Elmhirst and Mark “Spike” Stent.

Viirgin is the follow-up to 2021’s Photo voltaic Energy, which topped the Billboard Different chart and debuted at No. 5 on the general Billboard 200.
