Experimental singer/songwriter and YouTuber LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER will be representing the United Kingdom at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria in May 2026.
The artist, born as Sam Battle, first burst onto the scene in 2014 as the frontman of indie rock band ZIBRA. Since then, he launched his flourishing solo career indulging his passion for electronic and synth sounds. As LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, he has played to packed venues across the UK and Europe, and released a string of singles, albums, and EPs.
Speaking about representing the UK, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER said: “I find it completely bonkers to be jumping on this wonderful and wild journey. I have always been a massive Eurovision fan, and I love the magical joy it brings to millions of people every year, so getting to join that legacy and fly the flag for the UK is an absolute honour that I am taking very seriously.
“I’ve been working a long-time creating, writing, and producing my own visions from scratch, and documenting my process. I will be bringing every ounce of my creativity to my performances, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear and see what we’ve created. I hope Eurovision is ready to get synthesized!”
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER is a man of many talents: a singer-songwriter, live electronics performer and composer, inventor of unique musical machines, and self-proclaimed Eurovision fan. He is also a YouTube content creator who has amassed over 85 million views. In his videos, he demonstrates his unique musical inventions, using the likes of Furbies and Game Boys, synthesizer bicycles, flame throwing keyboards, and a Star Wars droid orchestra.
His unparalleled credentials in the world of synthesizers and electronics has also earned him a Guinness World Record for building the world’s largest drone synthesizer. If that wasn’t enough, the artist has delivered a TEDx Talk discussing how he bought these inventions to life, released his own video game, and curated and opened a museum displaying his curious creations.
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER was chosen as the UK’s representative following an extensive search led by UK Eurovision Project Director and Music Industry figure, David May, alongside Andrew Cartmell, Executive Producer, BBC Studios North and Head of Delegation for the UK. His song will receive its first radio play on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds in the coming weeks.
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna, Austria following JJ’s victory at the Grand Final in May 2025 in Basel, Switzerland with their song ‘Wasted Love’. Last year, the UK were represented by country-pop trio Remember Monday, with their anthem ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will take place in Wiener Stadthalle, Vienna, on Saturday 16 May with the Semi-Finals taking place on Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 May. The Grand Final and the Semi Finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and iPlayer plus via BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
