Over the last few years, Moss has pushed herself, and the band, into new territory — sonically, visually, but also personally and emotionally. Something we love about Moss is that she’s never shied away from talking about anything — and that honesty is an undercurrent of the band’s urgent, addictive sound. She’ll talk about the messiest parts of falling in love, attachment styles — and she’ll claim her seat as a My Chem stan. And she’s the same way onstage. There is no holding back.

Over at AP, we’ve loved Scowl through every sonic shift, from their hardcore debut album, How Flowers Grow, to their most recent album, Are We All Angels — which weaves hardcore with alt-rock, pop punk, and grunge. Project by project, we’ve gotten to know each of the band members better, and see their personalities and tastes come forward. Moss credits Gerard Way’s dramatism.
