Is Thanos finally making his return? Josh Brolin suggests that he may reprise his iconic role in the MCU sooner than fans might think.
As the Multiverse Saga nears its conclusion, there are a lot of characters that fans have been begging to see make a return. However, perhaps no character’s absence has been felt more than the main man himself: Thanos. The villain was a constant, looming presence in the MCU since 2012, capstoned by an absolutely phenomenal performance by Josh Brolin in Avengers: Endgame.
While Thanos has made brief appearance in the MCU, such as in Multiverse of Madness and What If…?, Josh Brolin has yet to make his return as the Mad Titan. And with Avengers: Doomsday serving as the “Who’s Who” of Marvel Studios, many think it would be wrong to not have the villain make some kind of cameo in the upcoming film.
Is Thanos In Avengers: Doomsday?
Reporters recently caught up with Josh Brolin at the red carpet for The Running Man. During their brief chat, Entertainment Tonight asked the star if there were any plans for him to return as Thanos in Avengers: Doomsday. While Brolin played coy, he did tease that he’d be open to reprising his iconic MCU role in a future project.
“If Joe Russo comes to me, which he may have, I don’t know, and has an idea, then I might acquiesce.”
Given Josh Brolin went so far as to mention one of the Russo Brothers by name, all signs point to this being a tease that Thanos will return in Avengers: Doomsday. Then again, with the MCU’s slate looking rather bare for the rest of the Multiverse Saga, it’s also possible that the studio has a secret project in mind that’ll prominently feature the villain.
