Is Thanos finally making his return? Josh Brolin gives his thoughts on playing the Mad Titan once more in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday crossover.
A lot of characters are making their return in Avengers: Doomsday. From classic members of the X-Men to the new hotness of the MCU today. However, given the film is the start of the end of the Multiverse Saga, fans have been wondering if it’ll feature the most prominent villain of the last saga. That, of course, being Josh Brolin’s Thanos.
Despite the film having been in production for some time now, there hasn’t even been a rumor about Josh Brolin reprising his role as Thanos in the film. This isn’t shocking, given the actor likely wouldn’t even have to be on set to make his return as the character. Though given just how many rumors there have been about Avengers: Doomsday, the lack of any reports about Thanos has left some fans worried he may be entirely absent.
Is Thanos In Avengers: Doomsday?
With Josh Brolin currently doing the press circuit for his role in Weapons, it was inevitable that someone would ask about a potential role in Avengers: Doomsday. Shockingly, it seems the actor is all-in for a return as Thanos, remarking that he still talks to the Russo Brothers quite a bit.
“Deadpool 2, I was like, I was glad it was one experience,” Brolin told Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast “The Thanos thing, if they called me in London right now, and said, ‘Let’s do this,’ I’d be like, ‘I’ll be there tomorrow. I talk to Downey probably four to six times a year. I talk to the Russos probably four to six times a week. I talk to Joe a lot. I love both of them.”
Given how quickly The Russo Brothers had to toss together the script for Avengers: Doomsday, it wouldn’t be shocking if they stuck to the characters they already know. And given Thanos was the leading character of Infinity War, it would only make sense to give Josh Brolin a chance to return to the part once more.
