Joseph Quinn recently spoke about the possibility of his character, Eddie Munson’s return in Stranger Things Season 5. He played the role of Munson in the fourth installment of the hit Netflix show and instantly became one of the most loved characters. However, his death in the Season 4 finale left a scar on the fans, and now many await his return despite the chances being low.
Joseph Quinn says Eddie Munson’s return in Stranger Things Season 5 isn’t ‘impossible’
The 31-year-old actor has been busy promoting his upcoming movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. At one such event, he was asked about Eddie Munson’s possible return in Stranger Things Season 5.
While talking to Extra TV about the aforementioned movie, the reporter also went on to ask Quinn if the Duffer Brothers have planned to bring his character back. She questioned whether the “creative” directors could bring Munson back “for a flashback.”
To this, Quinn replied by hinting that there is a possibility. However, he didn’t clearly confirm the character’s arrival in Season 5. He said, “Oh my god, yeah, I mean, it’s going to be out soon, isn’t it? Who knows? There’s always a chance for anything, isn’t there, really? Nothing’s impossible.”
Although the Gladiator II actor suggested that there might be a chance for Eddie Munson’s upcoming Stranger Things season, the chances are low as fans are shown his grave in the recently released teaser. In Season 4, Munson dies after being ambushed by a swarm of Demobats in the Upside Down. He sacrifices himself by distracting the Demobats while Nancy, Steve, and Robin approach the Creel house to fight Vecna.
Previously, SuperHeroHype has listed down certain fan theories based on which Munson could return in Season 5. One of these theories was a flashback, which Quinn also appeared to address. Secondly, some fans believe that Vecna could resurrect Munson as Kas or a vampire and make him fight alongside him.
Kas is a character in Dungeons & Dragons who was Vecna’s lieutenant. A third theory suggests that Munson is trapped in Vecna’s mindscape like his other victims. Thus, Eleven could bring him back once she defeats Vecna. Additionally, the last theory that leans toward bringing Munson back is that Season 5 has time travel.
