Pure/ Sub Club legend shares shocking news

JD Twitch, veteran DJ and founder of legendary Edinburgh club night Pure, has shared shocking health news with fans after a prolonged bout of ill health.
“Following extensive tests I’ve been diagnosed with a brain tumour and I have been told my condition is untreatable,” he told followers via Instagram. “As you can imagine, I am trying to process this news and prioiritising spending precious time with the people I love.”

Together with long standing DJ partner Optimo – the pair met on a bus from Glasgow to Edinburgh – he went on to be a resident at Glasgow’s Sub Club for 13 years, playing an estimated 2,600 hours over 650 Sunday nights. Guests included LCD Soundsystem, Richie Hawtin, The Rapture, The Kills, Franz Ferdinand, Divorce, Peaches, Grace Jones and New York no wavers Liquid Liquid.

The pair have also been worldwide ambassadors for Scottish house and techno, visiting over 100 cities from Tokyo to Dundee.
Our thoughts are with him, his loved ones, and everyone who has been touched by his extraordinary work at this time. Rather than contact him directly, friends and fans are urged to send a message to Keith and his family, or share a memory, photo, or video via the website here:
