Hi r/movies! We are writer/director Julia Max and actor Colby Minifie, and our new film, the supernatural horror film THE SURRENDER, is streaming now on Shudder.
THE SURRENDER is Julia's feature directorial debut and it's loosely inspired by her real-life experience with her mom when her stepfather passed away; The film premiered at SXSW in March. You might know Colby from her role as Ashley Barrett on "The Boys" — the 5th and final season of which will be airing next year — or from her roles in "Fear the Walking Dead," "Gen V," and I'm Thinking of Ending Things.
Synopsis:
A fraught mother-daughter relationship is put to a terrifying test when the family patriarch dies, and the grieving mother hires a mysterious stranger to bring her husband back from the dead. As the bizarre and brutal resurrection spirals out of control, both women must confront their differences as they fight for their lives – and for each other.
