Is Harrison Ford finished as Red Hulk? A rumor suggests that the star isn’t done with the MCU quite yet after Captain America: Brave New World.
For as controversial a film as Captain America: Brave New World was, there seems to be one thing that most fans can agree on: Harrison Ford absolutely killed it as Red Hulk. While his role in the film was far from perfect, he managed to bring an erratic energy and nuance that the character has sorely needed in the nearly two decades they’ve been in the MCU. This has left many fans wondering if the character has any future following the character’s fate at the end of the film.
Luckily, it seems that Marvel plans on keeping Harrison Ford around for at least a little while longer. According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Ford has already signed on to play the Red Hulk in another MCU project after Captain America: Brave New World. The rumor didn’t state which project the character would appear in. However, given the current slate of films headed into production from Marvel, there’s a few very good options.
Will Harrison Ford Return In The MCU?
Most fans assumed that Harrison Ford was a lock to appear in Thunderbolts the moment that he was cast as Red Hulk. However, given the rumor suggests that he is set to return in the MCU, not that he has already filmed his return, it’s not likely that this is the film being referenced. This leaves the most likely option as either one or both of Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
But let’s get fun with it! Expanding out from only the confirmed project for the MCU, there has long been a rumor that a World War Hulk project was in the works. With Thaddeus Ross finally transforming into Red Hulk with Captain America: Brave New World, it would make sense for the Hulk to finally return to the silver screen in his own solo movie. It would also explain why Marvel cast Harrison Ford to play Red Hulk, despite not having any other film on their release calendar where he could appear as the character.
