At San Diego Comic-Con, Prime Video debuted the official trailer for Season 2 of “Gen V”, the high-octane college spinoff of The Boys. It landed with a visceral punch—literally—showcasing returning characters, a major crossover cameo and the growing shadow of Homelander’s America.
The trailer kicks off with Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) hesitantly stepping back onto the grounds of Godolkin University, only to be met by a familiar face. A surprise appearance from Annie January, a.k.a. Starlight (Erin Moriarty), drew thunderous cheers from Comic-Con audiences and made it instantly clear: “Gen V” isn’t just a spinoff operating in a vacuum —it’s a deeply integrated chapter in “The Boys’” escalating, superpowered saga.
As showrunner Michele Fazekas explained during the panel, “Gen V” and “The Boys” aren’t just connected—”the shows talk to each other.” “Season 4 of “The Boys” sets up Season 2 of “Gen V”,” she said. “Homelander has taken over America, and now we get to see what that actually means—what it looks like across the country, what it looks like on campus, and how the resistance begins to take shape.”
Hamish Linklater joins the cast as the enigmatic new character, Dean Cipher, the mysterious new head of Godolkin University, who promises a curriculum that claims to unlock the full potential of young supes. But in “The Boys” universe, power rarely comes clean. The trailer teases ulterior motives beneath Cipher’s polished promises, as the campus atmosphere grows increasingly volatile. Returning to this fraught environment are Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (London Thor), and Emma (Lizze Broadway)—once the school’s rising stars, now hardened by trauma and thrust back into a brewing storm.
One of the trailer’s more curious flashes is a glimpse of a badge belonging to Dr. Thomas Godolkin, the university’s ominous founder, now revealed to be played by “Wicked” star Ethan Slater. His introduction signals a dive into the institution’s murky beginnings in Season 2, with hints of a buried program that could rewrite everything the students thought they knew. And Marie, it seems, might be more entangled in it than anyone realizes.
Elsewhere, fan-favorite Chace Crawford reprises his role as The Deep in a guest appearance, further tightening the narrative thread between “Gen V” and its parent show “The Boys”. Sean Patrick Thomas also returns, now promoted to series regular.
The trailer keeps its cards close and offers no easy answers, but its message is loud and clear: beneath the satire and superpowers, “Gen V” Season 2 promises blood, reckoning and a new kind of campus warfare. Watch below:
