Is The Fantastic Four: First Steps going to be something special? An early test screening teases good things are in store for the MCU’s upcoming film.
There’s a lot riding on The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The MCU has been in a bit of a sticky wicket as of late. Their last tentpole project was a Captain America film that was absolutely eviscerated by test screening after test screening before it even came out. And even their underdog project in Thunderbolts, while getting great reviews, ultimately ended up with a middling box office. Suffice to say, the franchise needs a hit, and fast.
People are looking to The Fantastic Four: First Steps as a bastion of hope. However, with a stiff July box office alongside Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman, the film needs to be of exceptional quality to bring back the MCU’s box office mojo. And with the film just over a month from release and the test screening circuit kicking into high gear, fans have been locked to the internet to see if they can hear any crumb of information about the upcoming project.
Is The Fantastic Four Actually Good?
Luckily for fans, it seems as though The Fantastic Four: First Steps isn’t going to be a let down quality-wise. An attendee from the most recent test screening has come out to share their experience watching the film. Apparently, while it has its issues like any other MCU film, the final product came out rather good. And, from what they could see, it was a sentiment echoed by most others in the audience during the screening.

Given this test screening seemed to go well, it’s not likely that The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be rushing to do any major reshoots in its final month. Given how CGI intensive the project likely is, that’s certainly a blessing. That being said, quality is far from the only factor that determines if a movie will be a success. And given the current streak of the MCU, it’ll be an uphill battle for the film to make a mark in the current box office landscape.
