Do the Fantastic Four even know who Doctor Doom is? The latest Avengers: Doomsday rumor reveals which universe the big bad is really from.
If you had told a fan a few years ago that the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom would be sharing the big screen in Avengers: Doomsday, they would lose their minds in excitement. However, it seems as though this wish has caused a Monkey’s Paw to curl, as the team’s greatest villain may end up being played by Robert Downey Jr., confining him to only a single movie.
Though this speculation hinges on what universe the Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday hails from. While many assume that he’ll come from the one seen in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, it’s a fact that is far from confirmed. Albeit, many assume that the answer will be revealed soon in the upcoming film’s post-credits scene.
Is Doctor Doom From The Fantastic Four’s Universe?
Luckily, fans have seemingly got their answer earlier than expected. The recent rumor round-up from Alex Perez at The Cosmic Circus touched on the relations between Doctor Doom and The Fantastic Four. According to the scooper, while he doesn’t know the answer for sure, everything that they know about Avengers: Doomsday points to Doctor Doom being from a different universe.
“I’m not sure he is from their universe. Mainly because we don’t get a single inkling of detail that proves that they know who Victor Von Doom is in their universe [during The Fantastic Four: First Steps].”
This remark may give some fans of the Fantastic Four some hope. If he’s not from their universe, or the main Sacred Timeline, there may be a chance for the MCU to recast Doctor Doom in a later installment. Though the exact relationship between the parties will likely be explored further in Avengers: Doomsday, this may simply be a preamble for bigger things to come.
